Cards Are Movement, Not Just Weapons

Every card in your hand has a Discard ability — throw the card away to get a movement ability instead of a weapon. Jumping on a Pistol lets you double-jump. Discarding a Shotgun gives a forward blast-dash. Learning every card's Discard effect is the core skill of Neon White.

Gold Isn't the Goal — Ace Is

Gold medals have generous time limits. Ace medals require finding hidden shortcuts and executing nearly-perfect routes. If you're consistently hitting Gold but missing Ace, look for destructible floors, hidden paths above enemies, or alternate angles that skip combat entirely.

Watch Your Replays

The ghost replay (unlocked after your first clear) shows other players' Ace routes. You don't have to figure everything out yourself — watch the ghost and identify exactly where they deviate from your line.

Learn the Rocket Jump

Discarding the Rocket Launcher propels you upward explosively. Mastering Rocket Jumps to reach elevated platforms early — before clearing enemies — is the single biggest technique for cutting level times.

Gifts Unlock NPC Dialogue

Finding hidden Gifts in each level and giving them to the correct NPC unlocks extended dialogue scenes and character development. These are completely optional but flesh out the story considerably. Each NPC prefers specific types of gifts — Yellow gets sweets, Red gets action figures, etc.
