Inscryption: Act 1 Tips — Surviving Leshy's Cabin
No spoilers. Just the mechanics and strategies you need to beat Act 1's roguelike card battles without losing your mind.
The Death Card System
When a card you own dies in battle, it can become a Death Card — a permanently enhanced version of that card added to your deck with upgraded stats and abilities. Let your weakest cards die intentionally to create powerful Death Cards early.
Teeth and Scales
Damage dealt beyond killing a card goes directly to the scale. Don't over-invest in attack when you only need to tip the scales a little — sometimes one damage point wins the fight.
Bones Are More Valuable Than They Look
Bone tokens accumulate when your cards die. Many of the best cards (Skelemage, Gravedigger, etc.) cost Bones instead of Blood. Running sacrifice-heavy decks that cycle cheap cards generates Bones fast. Don't ignore this economy.
The Cabin Has Secrets
Explore the room between battles. The safe, the stinkbug jar, the clock, the talking skull — all of these are interactive. Some provide meaningful gameplay advantages. Look at everything.
Sigil Priority
- Bifurcated Strike — Hits both opponent cards. Doubles damage output.
- Airborne — Bypasses cards entirely, hitting the opponent directly. Powerful in specific builds.
- Unkillable — Card returns to hand on death. Enables infinite sacrifice loops.
- Fledgeling — The card gains stats on death and resurrection. Invest early for a late-game powerhouse.
Totem Buffs Compound Quickly
Totems add a Sigil to every card of a specific tribe (canines, birds, insects, etc.). Building around a single tribe and grabbing the matching Totem early can create explosive synergies. Canines with Bifurcated Strike is a classic early build.
