Cult of the Lamb: Cult Management Guide
How to keep your followers from starving, getting sick, or losing faith — while you're busy crusading.
The Daily Cycle
Every time you return from a Crusade, your cult ages by one day. Followers get hungry, sick, and lose faith over time. Establish morning sermons and daily rituals before every Crusade. The Ritual of Enrichment (Faith boost) and Ritual Feast (hunger relief for all) are your most-used early rituals.
Farm First, Crusade Second
Before leaving on long Crusade chains, ensure your Farms are planted, your Outhouse (or Shrine of Waste) is built, and a Farmer follower is assigned. A cult that starves while you're away will spiral into dissent rapidly.
Follower Faith Management
Faith (the pink bar) is your most important resource. It drains from: unburied dead followers, sick followers not being healed, unanswered prayers, and long gaps without Sermons. Keep a stock of Sermons and check the Shrine of Belief daily.
Doctrine Tier Priority
- Funeral Doctrine — Lets dead followers be composted for fertiliser. Takes the sting out of deaths.
- Possessions Doctrine — Allows followers to donate gold. Major passive income stream.
- Work Harder Doctrine — Increases farm and building work speed significantly.
Dissenter Management
Dissenters spread their doubt to nearby followers. Deal with them quickly — imprison them for re-indoctrination or sacrifice them in a Ritual (which also gives a significant Faith boost, offsetting the lost follower). Never let dissenters roam freely for multiple days.
Tarot Cards Over Weapons in Crusades
Tarot Cards give passive combat bonuses throughout a Crusade run. Prioritise cards that complement your weapon style over raw weapon upgrades. The Spider Tarot (explosive projectiles on kill) and the Berserker Tarot (damage increase at low health) are among the strongest.
